Java Developer (Spring Boot)

Role Overview
OMAV Technology is hiring a Java Developer with strong Spring Boot expertise and at least two years of professional experience to join our remote engineering team. This role is suited for developers who have hands-on experience building production-grade applications using the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Hibernate. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain microservice-style and monolithic applications using Spring Boot
- Develop and expose RESTful web services consumed by frontend applications and third-party systems
- Configure and manage application properties, profiles, and environment-specific settings in Spring Boot projects
- Implement data persistence using Spring Data JPA and Hibernate with relational databases
- Write clean, modular, and testable code in line with Spring Framework best practices
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on basic CI/CD pipeline integration for automated builds and deployments
- Debug and resolve issues across development, staging, and production environments
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions for assigned modules
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience developing applications using Spring Boot
- Strong knowledge of Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate ORM
- Practical experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Working knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Familiarity with dependency management tools such as Maven or Gradle
- Understanding of application security basics, including authentication and authorization concepts (Spring Security is a plus)
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with attention to code quality
- Effective communication skills for collaborating in a distributed, remote team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience delivering at least one production application built using Spring Boot
- Experience working with Agile development methodologies is preferred
- Spring-related certifications or contributions to open-source Spring projects are a plus
