Java Developer (Backend)

OMAV Technology is hiring an experienced Java Backend Developer with a minimum of two years of hands-on professional experience to join our remote development team. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java
- Write efficient, reusable, and testable code following best practices and coding standards
- Work with both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases for data storage and retrieval
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues independently
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and product stakeholders to deliver complete features
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving overall code quality across the team
- Write and maintain unit tests to ensure application reliability and reduce regression issues
- Document API specifications and technical implementation details for internal and client reference
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Java backend development
- Strong command of Core Java, Object-Oriented Programming, and Java Collections
- Practical experience designing and consuming RESTful web services
- Working knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle) and basic exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, etc.)
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, and collaborative development workflows
- Understanding of software development best practices, including exception handling, logging, and performance tuning
- Exposure to unit testing frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito
- Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to resolve production issues efficiently
- Good written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of one full project lifecycle experience (design, development, deployment, and support) in a Java backend role
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum-based development teams is preferred
- Any relevant certifications in Java, backend development, or cloud platforms will be an added advantage
