Java Developer (Backend)

2+ years experience

Backend services and REST APIs on live production systems, with tests and API documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs
• Work with SQL and NoSQL data stores
• Optimise performance and troubleshoot production issues independently
• Participate in code reviews
• Write and maintain unit tests
• Document API specifications

Requirements & skills

• 2+ years Java backend development
• Core Java, OOP and Collections
• RESTful web service design
• MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle; some MongoDB
• Git and collaborative workflows
• JUnit or Mockito

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related
• One full project lifecycle in a Java backend role
• Agile experience preferred
